Welcome Letter

  I would like to welcome you to the Ranch Academy. The Ranch Academy is a public, open enrollment charter school district, located between Canton and Athens on Highway 19 in a beautiful country setting. We provide educational services for both male and female students in grades six through twelve. 

  The Ranch Academy has been in existence since 1999 and we provide an additional educational option for students who reside in the designated counties in which we are approved by the Texas education agency. Teachers at the Ranch Academy hold multiple certifications and are 100% highly qualified by NCLB standards. In addition, the teachers are all veteran teachers and have worked with students for many years. Their experience in the classroom assists them in providing the most effective instruction for students.

  Although not all of our students are classified as “at risk”, we do specialize in providing a unique educational alternative for students who may be struggling with issues in school due to attendance, health issues, or other reasons that may need additional options to be successful and graduate from high school. We also can assist students who are highly motivated to graduate early by completing their credits in a self-paced curriculum.

  Some of the areas in which we provide specialized services include credit recovery for students who may have lost credit due to absences, flexible scheduling, a variety of  instructional modes to meet the needs of individual students, and a self-paced curriculum.  Our small classes and personal learning plan for each student are designed to allow students to experience success and feel confident about school. 

  I believe that all students can be successful when given a truly individualized approach to their education. We have a history of providing just that type of service for our students.
